Adhira Love: Lost &Found.. A Review

Aditti Gaur's Adhira is a new beginning for an Independent Women. The novel focusses on the life of a woman named Adhira. It highlights the struggles, past experiences of her which become the major segment. Adhira is not some normal story or love story. It is the interesting saga of love that Adhira got after so many barriers.

The cover of the book is intriguing which excites the reader to read the book.
The author has used third person narrative which is impersonal and in some chapters personal narrative can be noticed. She has used sentences ranging from simple, compound to complex. This maintains the syntactic order in the novel. The novel is beautifully organised with events. Ridhima's wedding is the main in the novel. Shikhar 's betrayal backs the second set of issues. Coherence can be noticed in her work. There are some transitional paragraphs which are catches the eye of the reader. The use of Hinglish doesn't make the piece fragmented. Further, the author has composed her songs which are so beautiful and will make you feel at ease. One may get philosophical after reading the lyrics. The novel is so intriguing that I ended up reading in one go. After reading the novel you will think about it for sometime.

This novel not only talks about the struggles of an individual but it also highlights the thoughts of a girl before her wedding. For a girl wedding is the biggest decision of her life and it's not easy to leave her family. It also talks about a girl's fear before her marriage. As they say Marriage is like gambling, you are never sure whether it will work or not.You will have zillions of examples infront of you. Some will be of success and some will be of failure. But failures scare us the more. So, Ridhi represent all those girls who fear before their wedding.

The novel depicts the lovely bond of friendship between Ridhi and Adhira, who are like Juno Swans. The love bond between Shikhar and Adhira is spectacular. The way Shikhar helps Adhira by going out of the way makes him an amazing character in the novel. Adhira's characterizations are very powerful. Even the villain in the story has so much power. The minor characters are full of mysteries. But I felt the minor characters were highlighted more as compared to the major ones and some characters were completely ignored. Maybe my expectations are more as a reader. further, the author talked about the disease which has been elaborated very artistically. Personally speaking, I didn't come to know when the novel got completed..it just left me with an "Awww". I congratulate Aditti Gaur for coming up with such a fantabulous piece.

A Heartwarming Session -Aditti Gaur's Interview

Interviews play an integral role in our life. They make you feel like a star. And that is exactly what Aditti Gaur, the budding author, felt when I had a word with her.  Lets see what she says about her Adhira: Love, Lost &Found.

What according to you Adhira is?
Adhira… Love; lost & found, is a story about a girl and her journey of struggles, achievements, responsibilities, passion & love of her life. The journey where she realizes that sometimes… "Silence is the most powerful scream" and "Indication of something being terribly wrong".  This is a journey where she loses her love somewhere and then finds it again.

When you realized you should write?
For me, writing happened suddenly. I was neither into writing nor aimed for it too. But, there were things  that used to circulate in my mind. I always loved creating stories and used to tell people about it. One fine day, when my husband and I were discussing something about this whole thing, he instantly came up with the thought that I should write these stories. And that’s how this whole process of creating a story and getting it published in a book, started.

Why Adhira? What is so special about it?
There is nothing much special about it. It’s just that this story used to revolve in my mind from a long time. This novel highlights the personality of strong and independent women in our society... How the character deals with the rigidity of men despite of working at a respectable position . It reflects an image, dedication and love our women stored in their hearts for each and everyone, who belongs to her.
My girl “Adhira” is nothing, but, just a face of a girl in our society; a very short example of the complexities our girl’s, which they are facing in today’s society and how they overcome from them. Every girl can relate herself to this character somewhere in her life. She is a sweet, caring and very friendly person, who loves to care about everyone. But, at the same time, she is strong headed and independent individual too. She knows her limitations at the same time she also knows how to live life happily.

Do you think the characters you chose for your novel are related to you somewhere in your real life?
See, I personally believe that, when you are creating a particular character or a story, you visualize everything. You start imagining yourself  as a character. Then you understand the situations and start feeling the emotions of the characters. And then only you are able to write about them. Like, if I give you one example, when I started writing about Adhira or Riddhi, I put myself in their situations and then visualized about what would be my reaction to certain situations or in that particular scene.
So, in a way, the characters I chose for my story are somehow related to me. But their whole identity belongs to the world I created for them.

So tell about your research work of Adhira?
I had to do a little research for this story. As my girl is suffering from a life threatening disease. I read a lot about the Bone Marrow Aplasia. Read stories of the patients who survived, their experiences and their journey’s so far.

How Adhira has changed your life?
Adhira has given me a direction to see my future. I used to be a reserved person, which still I am! This creation gave me an idea to freely express my feelings, thoughts and off course… my stories to the world. This book made me a more confident individual and opened the gate towards my destination.
Why you chose 'Adhira' as the title of this novel?
I did select some titles for this story but no-one was touching my heart and my search ended with this title ‘Adhira… Love; lost & found .’ I instantly liked this one as this story also revolves around the life of my girl Adhira. I thought, what could be best other than this. Also, this title is little unusual and I wanted the title should be different from the ones we are currently looking at the bookstores. This is how this title has been selected for the book.

What was in your mind while writing this piece?
Like I said earlier, writing happened to me suddenly. I never-ever thought that one day, I would write something or known to be as a published writer. I was writing this story just to clear whatever was circulating in my mind. I never thought to get this published in a book but when my husband read the first draft of the story; he really liked it and suggested me to write it in a serious manner. Since that day I started writing it seriously. I just wanted to express the feelings of each character in a beautiful way. I wanted to write, to express, not to impress. I just wanted that the story and the characters of Adhira are loved by the readers.

How was your experience with the Editor? Did you face any critical criticisms?
The first editing of this book was done by my husband and the experience was horrible. As my grammatical skills are weak and I do not hesitate to admit this. When he was editing the chapters he used to point out my mistakes and criticize for the same. His criticism had done a major part in showing me the correct path to improve my flaws. And then, the professional editing was done by Jonali, who has done the most difficult job of refining the language and fixing grammatical errors.

Are you planning to write any sequel? Tell more about it?

Yes, I am working on the sequel to this book. According to me, it is not the end of Adhira’s story It is just the beginning. A lot more things I have to share with my readers about her. Adhira… Love; lost & found is just a source to let people know about her. Her journey and her love-story are still incomplete, which I will complete in the next book. This book is just a mirror to her personality, her struggle for life is yet to discover.

Uttam Kumar's 1st JOb and 10 Mistakes

Uttam Kumar is a budding author with his debut book "First Job and Ten Mistakes" He belongs to a Mathematics background and has done Masters in it. His upcoming works include "The Moment of Truth" and "Recruitment Hijacked". The author can be contacted at twitter @ramuk76 and at sututtam@yahoo.com. He can also be reached through his facebook page: www.facebook.com/AuthorUttam.

"First Job and Ten Mistakes" is a short book with all the mantras for success. The author weaves his experiences in this book. As it is said." Mistakes give you lessons" so through this book, the author shares his mistakes which work as a mantra for the people. The title of the book clearly tells us the motive behind this book. The book contains 46 pages and he has guided us through his ideas and techniques. He has given us the 'dos' and 'dont's' for a person's Financial Career.

This book is way too different from other novels as it has no stories but, to the point facts. The author is very precise when he has to guide his readers. He has talked about certain goals like the short term and the long term goals that a person should make if he wants some success. He further gives us analysis about the selection of works. He talks about also the acknowledgement of one’s talent.

He has divided the contents of the book into chapters. The first five chapters are very technical and talks about the technicality of the fields like Spear Theory, Equity Market, Credit Cards, Loan for Loan. The next lot talks about the practical contents of the book. They talk about the decision making process for a particular job, the time period for which we have to do the job which is known as the Launching Pad, observation of the successful people around, career planning, goals and tracking.

The book has no negative aspects yet I felt the contents could have been elaborated more and the cover of the book was less creative. I recommend all my readers to read this book as its not just useful for financial basis but also for a layman who is trying to figure out things in his life.

Like It Happened Yesterday: A Review

Ravinder Singh's Like It Happened Yesterday is one of the most loved books. It is a different book as compared to his love story novels. As we know he is one of the appreciated novelists and his works are highly recommended by people. I am one of them.

'Like It Happened Yesterday’ is a memoir of the author’s growing up years and how the experiences in his childhood have influenced his life at a later stage. It is a small depiction in which the author talks about his old days, his school time, good and bad incidents, crushes. This is a common story like every person has. The same happens with us when we enter the young age. This is a common phenomenon but Ravinder's common story inspired me.

This is an autobiographical novel and has all the traits of a typical domestic novel. For a change Ravinder picked up a different subject. The language of the novel is simple, clear and has brevity in it. He has used the simple technique of novel writing. Though many people didn't like it because they were expecting a yet another love story from him. But I believe an author must try different genres. This is true somewhere that he didn't do much justice to this one as compared to his other love stories but I guess this novel might be closed to his heart as it has all the small anecdotes of his life.

There are some things that I loved the most in his novel. First of all, the the incidents are episodic and are divided  and well arranged in chapters according to the growing age. The best segment is of the author's meeting with his teacher with whom he is attached. This incident talks of Ravinder's adolescent period where attraction is a normal phenomenon. The special thing  about each chapter is that he has given us small lessons through his experiences. The reader will feel connected to him.

So, I would like to suggest my readers to read it and give your own opinions.

My Stunning Best Friend

Sitting in my secluded room I am writing something. I actually don’t know what and why I am writing as my brain isn’t getting what to write. I am thinking of Sonnet 55 and Sonnet 65. No, actually I am thinking of Bacon’s OF FRIENDSHIP. But still don’t know what is the subject matter of writing this piece. Yes! Yes! I know where this is coming from and for whom. Her birthday is coming and that is why my mind is running. Megan, is her name and she is the reason of this mind game.

A girl with long hair, glossy dark eyes ,dolly pink lips and not to forget her stylish flicks, suddenly came in my life almost seventeen years ago. She saw something in me as I was sitting alone at the opposite seat. Even I saw this sugar pie who was surrounded with her little toddler friends. Her eyes twinkled looking  at me and even her friends gave a stunning gaze to me. They shyly, uttered in chorus by bringing near their hands, FRAAANDZ and from their it all started, a beautiful saga of friendship. Flashbacks are good, isn’t it?

I am not getting words for your description but this ain’t doctor’s prescription! I am neither Lamb, nor Hazlitt and not even Chesterton, I am just a ‘chattering writer’, her best friend whose trying to write this first ever prose.

I could have written poetry but showing, my coolest friend; my unique chic is what every year’s trick. Writing a prose is not a cup of tea but still I am trying to make this tea with my flowing emotions. It was that day when she gave me an award of being her best friend. That was the most heart warming segment of our long friendship. Today, I can’t give you an award but by writing this prose I will make you immortal for the coming world. Readers, I tell you, this beauty has done majors in me and knows everything before I utter a single thing.

A duck of a friend you are and seriously speaking, knowing you for so many years has always been a new experience. An adventure freak melancholic writer; religious saint; spicy cook; Hey! Now don’t give that nasty look. A crazy brat with a messy hat and your hypnotic eyes almost make every guy shy. Meg, that’s what your classy name; not to forget Cherry is your priceless fame.

Tuberculosis knows about your deadliest desire and that actually brings me into fires. I know she is our cranky friend but I am your never- changing trend.

My proto-co-ho-lic friend, Costa, mocks at your delaying blend, but I do agree stylo you make us late from every end. Still you are my psycho scientific sprite...oh! Wait a moment, you are everybody’s flaunting slide. A crazy dancer, mommy’s laughing doll, daddy’s rockstar and Bhaiya- bhabhi’s flower. Well! That’s What You Are...

I think I have written much. This is a prose not a Verse. You are a transparent friend just like an open book. It’s your BIRTHDAY, your day.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU THAT IS WHAT I ALWAYS PRAY!

A/N: My blog was incomplete without this post ..I wrote this an year ago and now since I have a blog so thought of posting it..I hope you all like it ..I need your special reviews ..

Wandering Mind

We all have exams isn't it!Do we study all the time?? Seriously speaking, we do every stupid thing before exam but not study. Am I Right? We suddenly start remembering the old things like old scribblings, messages or some novels that attract us. We badly want to read them but have to suppress ourselves to study. Sometimes, the favourite TV show or the cricket match attracts us. These distractions.. N above all when a writer has exams he or she wants to scribble down her heart on a piece of paper or the blog. I am doing the same thing. I have exam tomorrow and I am scribbling here because my mind is not at all at peace. I have read the novels, my course ones. But still my mind is wandering, don't ask me why, even I don't know. Earlier,we used to get scared of exams or study like anything but now we don't feel scared as we have given exams zillion times, yes, I feel so.Starting from nursery class to our college exams to our entrance exams to our job tests, we are to give exams, exams and exams.
Sometimes I end up singing,  "Exams, Exams everywhere,
Will they ever end?
Everytime they begin
With a new trend."
After wandering whole day, in the morning before exam,we are ruffling pages..yes we all do, even I do.This condition is with all those who are like me.
And the craziest things happens with lovers. During this time every other girl or a guy gets a proposal, they are confused, brain stops working and concentration level leads to zero. Mostly this is the trick to distract people or more interesting is,  most of the breakups,  sorry scenes, love scenes happen during exams. All the schedule and plans go in vain.
The timetable to study, the plan of giving time to some subjects, this happens with people who have boards. One should notice what all they do and even I did when I had boards and I guess they were the only papers in my life that I gave seriously by torturing myself. You want to know what I did? Actually this all do who have boards, I feel so.
They submit there cell phones to their parents so that nothing can distract them. The parents cut the TV lines and some do even more then that, they even cut off their landlines. What is left with their child is to study, study and only study. This is complete torture.I feel those who don't want to study will find their ways. They will scribble something on paper and parents will think their child is studying or they will just open the book and wander.Teenage slots go through such tortures. I feel that's the torturous thing. If you want to study you ll study in the noisiest place too, no matter what happens. If you don't want to study,  you will end up wasting your time by just day dreaming. Hey, don't judge,  I am not doing day dreaming. Its just my mind isn't at peace.
I am prepared for my exam, but I needed some break so I came up with this piece. I don't know whether it makes sense or not,  I just wanted to share my heart out and this happens to every person who give exams. Some express it and some suppress it. I just expressed it.
So, my dear readers, give exams with peace and concentration and after writing it I am feeling refreshed. Will wait for your feedbacks.Kindly like, comment and share this. YOu never know, my stupid scribblings mIGHT help somebody who is not at peace. Stay blessed..keep reading and writing.

Ganga Bharani's 'Just You, Me and a Secret' :A Perfect Suspense Novel

Just You, Me and a Secret by Ganga Bharani is a perfect instance of suspense novel. We technically define Suspense novel as a novel that has an unsolved mystery which catch the reader’s attention. It has lots of emotions like anxiety, eagerness, thrill and many more. The outer cover of the book is much appreciated because of its stylish use of oil pastel designing which makes the cover artistic and gives a simple yet stylish look.
The plot is very intriguing and the actions take place according to it. The action of the novel takes place at two places; first is Chennai and the other is Coimbatore. The background of the story is a southern setup. The story begins with the protagonist, Meera who gets up in a hospital and is shocked to find her memory loss. She meets Ashruth who happens to be her fiancé but she hates him at the first place by seeing his over loving nature. As the story progresses, she finds out the answers of her questions through her diary whose named as Clara. Further, she discovers about her parents who are filthy rich and also about her companion, Santosh. Slowly, she develops affection for Santosh but still her mind always hover over her past. There are some things that disturb her. She goes through intellectual and heart battle. When she meets Santosh, things began to clear. The mystery behind the things began to clear and as a result she finds out her answers. The story ends on a happy note revealing all the secrets and mysteries, also the identity of Meera.
The author has a unique style of writing. She writes in a telegraphic language. For instance, the first line of the novel shows us this; “Pitch dark. Extreme silence.” The name of diary is intriguing ‘Clara’. It first confuses the readers and they think it as the name of a person. The sentence structure varies from simple to complex sentences. The language of the author in this novel is very simple, lucid. The mention of diary entries in ‘Clara’ and the exchange of letters between Santosh and Deepthi take our minds towards Epistolary technique of Novel Writing. The novel is a complete package of intense emotions blended with thriller.
As we know ‘Every coin has another side’ so this book has some flaws which make it weak selling wise. According to me, the cover of the book is simple but these days glittery or stylish covers appeal the readers most. The pages and the font of the book make it boring which sounds like a student reading a textbook. Coming to the contents of the book, I believe the parents’ character should have been developed more as compared to Ashruth and Santosh’s character. But we should appreciate Ganga for her commendable work as she is the first timer. These little criticisms will improve her work more.

One should not forget that her work is amazing that is why she is the inspiration to some published writers. For instance, Nikita Singh’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ is inspired from Ganga’s novel. Readers will be amazed to know that some of the contents of the plot and the story have been taken as it is. For instance, the memory loss of Kalindi’s is similar to Meera’s. Then the side heroes Ashruth and Sameer are round characters who have mysterical identities. After this the Laptop scene in both the novels is same. Further, the secrets are revealed through dairies in both the books. Like this, there are many instances which clearly prove that Nikita’s inspiration to her novel is Ganga’s work. This makes her work a hit. And yes, if you start reading once, you will not get up without finishing it.
